Vampire Knight Memories volume one by Matsuri Hino
Burned by Karen Marie Moning

The last few days of 2017 are coming to a close, and with that comes a complimentary book haul. These are the last of my miscellaneous orders to come in before the books I bought and received for Christmas (to come in a 2018—you guessed it—book haul!).

Vampire Knight Memories is probably my favorite thing to date in the Vampire Knight universe. It’s the culmination of all the things I wanted to see happen that the epilogue didn’t provide. There’s a lot of couples that finally make their way to each other, which is quite gratifying (I spend a lot of time waiting for Rika and Shiki okay). I’d like to revisit this series from the beginning soon after all these years. Matsuri Hino’s art has gotten even prettier.

I’ve only read the first Fever novel, so maybe buying Burned wasn’t the smartest decision I could make. I’m not wild about mass market paperbacks or the cover of this book. I’m hoping I’ll still like Mac and her many kinds of companions after seven books though.

What kind of T.V. shows do you like to watch? Do you have a favorite bookish memory from 2017?

  1. I’m glad you received books you’re looking forward to reading (aside from Burned…ish…but I hope you’ll enjoy that story!) I watched a lot of How to Get Away With Murder in the fall, but I’m waiting for the TV series to return in the new year. My favorite bookish memory from this year would probably have to be returning to my blog after a long hiatus. I hope you have a wonderful new year!

  2. I’ve heard great things about the Moning books but haven’t read them. Hope Burned turns out to be good!

As for TV shows, I love The 100 and just binged season 2 of Travelers. Love that show!!!

Thank you! If Moning becomes one of my favorite authors, all the better, because there are so many of her books to read 😀 If you check her stories out, I hope you’ll enjoy them as well.

I love The 100 so much too! I’m equal parts excited and scared for the new season. If it’s a binge-worthy show, I’ll just have to look into the Travelers too :O

  3. I’ve always seen and heard great things about Karen Marie Moning but I have yet to read one of her books! There are other big authors like Nalini Singh and Jeanine Frost whose books are so popular and I want to try some but just haven’t gotten the chance. May 2018 be the year I finally knock some off my TBR. 😀 I hope you enjoy both of your new books!

    Happy New Year. =)

Yay! It’s so nice to hear that the books hold up after so many installments. Now I’m even more excited to keep reading 🙂 I hope the rest of the series will be enjoyable for you too!

  4. Whoo Star Labs!! I love that shirt. I’m so behind on The Flash though – I’ve watched and LOVED the first two seasons though, and I’ve seen a bit of the third and fourth but I need to go back and get caught up. 🙂
